This clinical trial is testing whether a new drug, called Azilarigon, is effective in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease compared to a placebo. This medication is to be taken in addition to current Alzheimer’s disease medication(s).

The study lasts for 23 months and includes 9 visits to the Warneford Hospital in Oxford. Volunteers need to be willing to undertake a range of memory tests, blood tests and physical health monitoring, and undergo two brain scans in a specially designated imaging unit.

We ask that participants have a study partner, for example a family member, carer and friend who has regular contact with them to accompany them to visits.

Patients will be eligible to participate in the study if they fulfil the inclusion criteria.

Patient travel expenses will be reimbursed for study visits, and a meal voucher supplied.
