Healthy Weight Management in People with Atrial Fibrillation

Hello, I am designing a study looking at ways in which people who have atrial fibrillation (AF) manage their weight, and how we can improve services to support them. I am interested in this because there is growing evidence that people with AF who maintain a healthy body weight can improve their symptoms and even reverse the condition, but I work with people who have AF who have told me how difficult they find it.

In my study, I plan to interview people with AF about their experiences of weight management and what sort of support (if any) they would like. The study would involve one face-to-face interview lasting about an hour. I hope to use the information and opinions from these interviews to improve service provision and the advice we give to patients.

I would like to get feedback from patients and service users about the design of the study and the Patient Information Leaflet I have written.

I am a clinical research nurse, and I am doing this research study as part of a Masters degree.

Thank you very much for your time.
